STORM CHIPS AHOY! MARITIMERS BRACE FOR FIRST NASTY WEATHER OF 2018
Wednesday 3rd January 2018 6:06 am
Forecasters are warning people in the Maritimes to brace for another powerful storm. The storm is expected to barrel into our area Thursday. Snow, blowing snow and rain are likely to be accompanied by possibly damaging winds. Environment Canada says the system could be stronger than the Christmas Day blast that left more than 150,000 customers without power in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia Power is activating its Emergency Operations Centre tonight at 8 o'clock in advance of the storm. The company is stationing powerline crews and forestry teams across the province, and staffing up its Customer Care Centre.
