The Pictou County Aecon Atlantic Scotians are 3 points behind the division leading Kameron Jr. Miners. The Scotians play twice on the weekend. They're in Antigonish on Friday against the Bulldogs, while Sunday night's game which is a rematch of last spring's championships where they beat the Liverpool Privateers. Game time in Trenton on Sunday is 7pm.
The Pictou County Bantam A Crushers host an exhibition match against the Cole Harbour Red Wings at the Stellarton Memorial Arena at 9:30am Sunday.
The Bantam AA Crushers travel to Amherst this weekend to play Cumberland.
The Peewee AA Crushers are sitting in second place in the standings with a record of 6-1-2. The Crushers travel to Yarmouth to battle for top spot in the eight team Mainland League with two games this weekend against the first place Yarmouth Mariners.
The Peewee AAA Crushers face the East Hants Penguins Saturday at 4:30 pm in Trenton.
The Northern AAA Selects continue their hold on first place in their league with 14 wins this season. The Selects will play a two game home stand against the Moncton Rockets this Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at the Wellness Center.
Womens 7 Aside Soccer is being held Wednesday evenings from 8-9pm at the Stellarton Indoor Complex. Drop-ins are welcome (5$ fee) and is open to all skill levels.
The 8th Annual Oliver Hudson Graham Memorial Cancer Sucks Cup is coming up Thursday Dec. 21st with games scheduled at Trenton Rink from 10am - 1pm. They will also be hosting a free skate on Friday, Dec. 22 from 7-9pm at the Trenton Rink.Just bring skates and a helmet and you're ready to hop on the ice! Oliver's Express shirts and raffle tickets on some fantastic prizes, will be sold on both days during the hours of each respective event. For more information, search out "8th Annual Oliver Hudson Graham Memorial Cancer Sucks Cup" on Facebook.
Registration is now open for the 2018 Johnny Miles Running Event Weekend on June 16 and 17. Johnny Miles Running Event Director Terry Curley says due to the ongoing, loyal support of sponsors, municipal partners and the running community, organizers are pleased to announce that registration fees are bring reduced by nearly 35% while still offering the same great, quality event that has always been offered in the past. Participants can now run the 5km for $35, the 10km for $40 and the Johnny Miles Half Marathon & Full Marathon for $45.00 each. This represents an approximate saving of 35% from the 2017 race day pricing.
