Barbara Weir was born and brought up in rural Pictou County. Her work experience began in the financial field working with the Bank of Nova Scotia and then Michelin of Pictou County in the accounting department. Barbara took a short leave to stay home with her two children Christopher and Lori.

In 1981 Barbara started with CKEC in the continuity department and within 2 years transferred to the sales department working with clients in Pictou, Antigonish and Truro markets. Barbara enjoys curling, dancing, cooking and entertaining friends.


Barbara lives in Pine tree with her husband John and enjoys being a part time carpenter. Some of her leisure time is spent renovating their home built in 1841.
