Northern Nova Scotia's starts the day with Ann MacGregor, the host of WAKE UP on East Coast FM weekdays from 6am-10am.
Ann MacGregor is proud to call Pictou County home. She grew up in MacLellan’s Brook and she spent many years dreaming of becoming a journalist. She attended several schools in the area, including the Little White School, Thorburn Consolidated and East Pictou Rural High. Her first move away from home was to the Annapolis Valley to attend Acadia University. It was at Acadia where Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation and a few different career changes, thoughts once again turned to broadcasting and more specifically radio. Ann enrolled at the Atlantic Media Institute in Halifax, and while going to school landed a job at Oldies 96/Country 101 in Halifax. Ann was offered a position at CKEC radio in 2001 as music Director, and in January'08 was promoted to Program Director.
She's proud to have the opportunity to meet some of Canada’s biggest stars and prides herself on being up-to-date in the music scene.
Ann currently resides in New Glasgow, and in her spare time like to read, hang out with family and friends. She also has a love of all things entertainment and spends much of her time in front of the tube, at the movies, or taking in a concert. She's also volunteers her time on committees for the Pictou County Christmas Fund and the Glasgow Square Theatre.
